Agreement to these terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Puzzle Folio (“Puzzle Folio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the Puzzle Folio mobile application, website, puzzle catalogue, cloud features, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By downloading, accessing, creating an account for, purchasing through, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required where you live, to create an account. If you have not reached the age of legal majority, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you.

You must provide accurate account information, keep your password confidential, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.

Usernames must follow the app’s formatting rules and must not impersonate another person, violate rights, mislead users, or contain unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate material. We may reject, change, or remove a username when reasonably necessary.

Registration limits may apply to a device or installation to reduce spam and abuse. You may not evade those limits by manipulating identifiers, automating registrations, or using deceptive methods.

Your licence to use Puzzle Folio

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable licence to install and use Puzzle Folio on devices you own or control for personal, non-commercial entertainment.

The Services are licensed, not sold. Except where applicable law does not allow the restriction, you may not copy, sell, rent, redistribute, reverse engineer, decompile, modify, create derivative works from, or bypass security or access controls in any part of the Services.

Guest play, saved progress, and synchronization

Puzzle Folio may allow limited guest play without an account. Guest records are primarily stored on that device and can be lost if the app is removed, its storage is cleared, or the device is lost or damaged.

Eligible guest progress may be imported when you first sign in to a newly created account with no existing cloud progress. Guest data from another device will not replace an account that already contains records.

Signed-in progress is designed to synchronize when a connection is available. Sync timing can be affected by connectivity, device settings, service interruptions, or competing changes made on multiple devices. You should allow pending changes to finish syncing before clearing local data or changing devices.

Your Gallery photos and content

Gallery lets you create private puzzles from photos you select or capture. You retain ownership of your photos. You grant us a limited, worldwide licence to host, copy, compress, transmit, display, and process them only as needed to provide, secure, synchronize, and support the Gallery feature.

You represent that you own or have permission to use every photo you add. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, exploitative, hateful, sexually explicit, invasive of privacy, malicious, or otherwise harmful. Although Gallery photos are not intended to be public, you remain responsible for the content you choose.

Removing a Gallery image may also remove its associated puzzle progress. Account deletion removes account-linked Gallery files controlled by Puzzle Folio, subject to limited legal, security, and backup retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Coins, points, hints, replays, and unlocks

Coins, points, replay slots, hints, premium-category access, Journeys, ranks, and similar features are digital records used only within Puzzle Folio. They are not money, property, stored value, or legal tender; have no cash value; and cannot be sold, transferred, traded, or redeemed outside the Services.

Coins may be earned through eligible gameplay or rewarded ads, purchased through an authorized app store, or granted as part of support or a promotion. Points and leaderboard placement are earned through eligible completed puzzles. Rewards are issued only after required verification and may be subject to replay, hint, advertisement, daily, account, or device limits.

Premium puzzle categories and replay resets may consume the displayed number of coins after you confirm. Except where required by law or caused by our verified error, spent virtual items are final and are not refundable.

We may rebalance future rewards, costs, limits, or availability to maintain fair play and service sustainability. We will not intentionally remove legitimately purchased, unused coins without a valid legal, security, fraud-prevention, refund, or account-enforcement reason.

Purchases, fulfilment, and refunds

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by Puzzle Folio. Prices, taxes, currencies, payment methods, confirmations, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the store and applicable law. The price shown by the store at confirmation is the price that applies.

Purchased coins are consumable digital items. They are credited after the store transaction is successfully verified. A “Restore Purchases” action may recheck eligible transaction records, but it does not guarantee that previously consumed or already delivered coins will be granted again.

If a transaction is reversed, refunded, charged back, duplicated, fraudulent, or invalidated, we may reverse the related coins or benefits. Contact the store for billing and refund requests, and contact us if a verified purchase was not delivered.

Rewarded ads and external services

Watching a rewarded advertisement is optional. A reward is credited only after the advertising provider and our systems verify a valid completion. Daily limits, cooldowns, connectivity, availability, age, consent choices, region, and provider rules may affect whether an ad or reward is available.

You must not automate ad viewing, manipulate callbacks, replay transactions, use bots, or otherwise obtain rewards dishonestly. Invalid or duplicate rewards may be withheld or reversed.

The Services may link to third-party websites or services, including app stores, advertising providers, donation channels, and support tools. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for third-party content or conduct, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Leaderboard and fair play

After an eligible scored completion, your username, chosen avatar, country flag, points, rank, scored-puzzle count, and limited aggregate statistics may appear publicly in the leaderboard.

Scores must result from genuine play through the normal app experience. Cheating, automation, modified clients, fabricated requests, exploiting bugs, transaction manipulation, or interfering with another user is prohibited.

We may investigate unusual activity and correct, withhold, or remove scores, rewards, ranks, or access where we reasonably believe they are invalid. Leaderboard availability and rankings may change as records are verified, corrected, or removed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful activity.
• Access another person’s account without authorization.
• Probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or attack the Services or their providers.
• Bypass payment, advertisement, reward, replay, registration, or access controls.
• Introduce malware or interfere with security or normal operation.
• Use automated tools to create accounts, play puzzles, earn rewards, or manipulate rankings.
• Misrepresent your identity or falsely claim association with Puzzle Folio.
• Infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
• Encourage or help another person violate these Terms.

Puzzle Folio content and ownership

Puzzle Folio and its licensors own the Services, software, interfaces, branding, designs, puzzle systems, text, audio, animations, catalogue organization, and other materials, except for your Gallery photos and third-party material identified as such. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

Catalogue images may be owned or licensed by their respective rights holders. Access is provided for personal gameplay only. You may not extract, redistribute, sell, or separately exploit catalogue images or other app assets.

If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment, while we remain responsible for deciding whether and how to implement them.

Suspension, termination, and account deletion

You may stop using the Services at any time and may permanently delete your account from Profile → Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Deleting the app alone does not necessarily delete a cloud account.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated violation, fraud, security risk, legal requirement, harm to others, or misuse of the Services. Where appropriate and reasonably possible, we may provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue.

On termination, your licence ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment adjustments, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will continue.

Availability, disclaimers, and liability

We work to keep Puzzle Folio reliable, but the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of any puzzle or feature, error-free synchronization, or compatibility with every device.

We may maintain, update, replace, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services. Catalogue content, rewards, prices, limits, and features may change over time. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your device, internet provider, app store, or an external service outside our reasonable control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Puzzle Folio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill arising from the Services. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid through Puzzle Folio during the 12 months before the claim or MYR 100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including rights arising from fraud, wilful misconduct, or applicable consumer-protection law.

Additional app-store terms

Apple App Store

If you obtained Puzzle Folio from Apple, these Terms are between you and Puzzle Folio, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, maintenance, support, warranties, product claims, legal compliance, or intellectual-property claims. Your licence is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control as permitted by Apple’s usage rules, including permitted Family Sharing. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the applicable provisions against you.

If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for the app, if any, as required by its rules. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.

Google Play

If you obtained Puzzle Folio through Google Play, your use is also subject to the applicable Google Play terms. Google is not responsible for providing support for Puzzle Folio. Purchases of digital goods through the Google Play version are processed using the billing method presented by Google Play where required.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts with jurisdiction in Malaysia will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where the mandatory laws of your country give you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent relief or using a consumer-protection process available by law.

Changes and general provisions

We may update these Terms as Puzzle Folio evolves. We will post the revised Terms here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. Continuing to use the Services after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them; if you do not agree, stop using the Services.

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, reorganization, sale, or other change in the operation of Puzzle Folio.
